These Are The Top 6 Destinations In Mexico That Cruise Ships Are Visiting

Cruise ships have been adding more itineraries and taking travelers to explore the beautiful Mexican coasts. According to recent data shared by the Mexican government, in 2022, over 7 million cruise passengers visited the country.

The Secretary of Tourism, Miguel Torruco Marqués, reported that 2,666 cruise ships arrived on the Mexican coasts from January to December 2022. And 94.6% of visitors stopped at 6 main ports: Cozumel, Costa Maya, Ensenada, Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta, and Mazatlán.

These are the top destinations that cruise ships are visiting — including the most popular American cruise companies — and relevant information about what travelers can see and visit there:

Almost 3 million passengers visited Cozumel in 2022. This is one of the busiest ports in the World, and travelers love this island in the Caribbean Sea. Costa Maya (Mahahual)

Right in the Yucatan peninsula, this gorgeous coast welcomes cruise passengers from all over the world. According to the report shared by Torruco Marqués, 1.2 million passengers stopped at this cruise port and explored the village.
